Current Erin is a Research Fellow and Lecturer with the Department of Community Emergency Health and Paramedic Practice at Monash University. Erin also acts as Course Coordinator for the Graduate Certificate Emergency Health (Disaster Health & Emergency Preparedness) and is Field Coordinator of the Cochrane Collaboration's Prehospital and Emergency Health Field. Erin is Section Editor (Cochrane Corner) of the Journal of Emergency Primary Health Care, and member of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM), Australian College of Ambulance Professionals (ACAP), the Public Health Special Interest Group - Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA), and the Australian Epidemiology Association (AEA).

Mal is a senior lecturer at Monash University - Department of Community Emergency Health & Paramedic Practice teaching primarily evidence-based paramedic practice to undergraduate students. Primary research interests include prehospital trauma management and linking of ambulance datasets to other health related datasets and subsequent analysis. Mal is still a practicing Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) Paramedic in rural Victoria.
