Using video to support the training of student teachers

Description

This project focuses on teachers’ initial education, and has implications for ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.

The proposed study will inquire into:

1. How beginning teachers learn to ‘see’ in the classroom, and how video and multiple perspectives affect the quality of their professional growth.

2. How the act of contributing to the professional development of others affects the development of teacher professional judgment.

3. How beginning teachers develop agency to direct their ongoing professional development.
