Researchers are now encouraged to share the original datasets that result from their research projects to allow other researchers to re-use the data, and to make the research process more transparent and replicable. There is a strong culture of data sharing in the field of marine science and researchers from ECU's Centre for Marine Ecosystems Research have contributed over 15 datasets since 2016, which have collectively been downloaded over 750 times.
