Description
Australian researchers from the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation conducted research into the risks and safety for Australian children on the internet. This research, known as AU Kids Online, was a study that paralleled a larger 25 nation European study, known as EU Kids Online. As part of the research 400 9–16 year olds and their parents/carers were surveyed about their experiences online. The Australian data was collected between 13 November 2010 – 9 Feb 2011 using the EU Kids Online surveys and protocols. The survey was conducted through a questionnaire. The researcher asked each question to the participants face-to-face and most answers involved ticking a box on an online web form accessed via a computer. Some questions were open-ended and required the child or parent/carer to input their response directly into the computer. The dataset consists of an SPSS file and Excel spreadsheet, and participants have been de-identified.
