Abstract
It is anticipated that there will continue to be an exponential increase in the demand for electronic data . The use of public networks, such as the Internet, to transmit private health information gives rise to numerous information security concerns., This paper investigates the security practices implemented by health care practices when transmitting and receiving patient health information from third parties, such as specialists, patients and hospitals.
