Abstract
An overview is presented of the growth of the global cruise industry, as well as the current demand and supply situation. Also highlighted are the major cruise lines, cruise destinations and cruise products. The economic, social and environmental impacts of cruise tourism are then discussed, as well as the heightened interest in, and practice of, security and safety in the cruise industry.
