Abstract

A reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) architecture using an opto-VLSI processor is demonstrated. Experimental results for a 6-channel ROADM show interchannel crosstalk of less than -25 dB and inter-port isolation better than 20 dB.
