Abstract
The increasing use of mobile computing devices in Universities and the requirement for teacher education students to develop skills and experience in using digital technologies to support their teaching is putting the pressure on teacher education school and faculties to consider how best to incorporate the use of these technologies. Over the past two years students in the School of Education at Edith Cowan University have been involved in a number of exploratory projects involving the use of notebook style computers. This paper reports on the results of one of these projects. While generally the outcomes were positive it is not clear that this is the preferred solution compared with the range of digital device options available.
