Abstract
Commercially derived quality management methods have been used in higher education throughout the world. This paper examines the similarities and differcnces between the contexts of education and business and the significance of the different relationships that pertain in each sphere. The findings of the research are significant for future approaches to quality management both in higher education and in other non-commercial sectors.
