Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of a DSP-based fully digital-controlled ultra-low frequency vibration isolator. The problem was suggested by experiments to direct detection of gravitational wave using laser interferometers. The experiment requires high order of vibration isolation from ground seismic noise and nano-meter (RMS) order of stability. The shadow sensor (LED/Photodiode) and coil/magnet were used as the transducer and actuator. The digital PID control was designed and tested based on a DSP board in a PC and LabView software package.
