Abstract
The war against terrorism in Afghanistan produced a brief revival of the New World Order and was, as far as media dramaturgy was concerned, in some ways a replay of the Gulf War. This paper intends to show that in moments of crisis the media rely on the strength of their organisational practices and live off existing journalistic practices and routines.
