Abstract

Many teachers acknowledge using games as part of their mathematics teaching program. This paper reports on a professional development course where teachers investigated the efficacy of mathematics games as a pedagogical tool. Teachers undertook small projects where they examined the use and effectiveness of different games in their school. Data were collected in the form of interviews and written reflections. These data were examined to determine how teachers employed games in the teaching of mathematics and how effective they found them.
