If the Coalition wants to improve its competitiveness and turn around more than twenty consecutive state election defeats as well as the 2007 federal election loss, it should consider adopting Labor's affirmative-action quota system for women entering parliament. It would help the Liberal Party get past the largely all-boys network that has built up both in parliament and throughout dysfunctional party organisations.
