Abstract

This chapter will offer the reader an insight into the roles of nurses when working with communities and the philosophy of Primary Health Care as it relates to nursing and midwifery. It will provide an overview of health promotion principles and activities, a detailed example of a health promotion activity in practice, and guidance on working with communities and families, exploring the scope of home-based care.
