Abstract

We propose a novel magneto-plasmonic crystal structure employing buried metal layer between dielectric layers in conjunction with a magneto-optic garnet thin film and a nano gold grating for realising extraordinary transmission as well as large Faraday rotation simultaneoulsy. Simulation results show substantial enhancement in extraordinary transmission and Faraday rotation due to the buried-metal-layer-induced Fabry Perot resonance.
