Abstract
Spanish percussion superstar Miquel Bernat entranced listeners with his virtuosity, as the rapturous sounds of ancient and modern percussion float and soared under the stars in the Inner Courtyard.
WAAPA’s award-winning Defying Gravity percussion ensemble presented a magical evening of musical masterworks: Vincent Plush’s Summoning of the Sun glistened with the radiance of the sun, Marc Mellit’s Gravity filled the air with energy and rhythm, and Peter Sculthorpe’s From Jabiru Dreaming brought the glory of Kakadu to life.
