Landscapes: the Journal of the International Centre for Landscape and Language

Abstract

In the process of researching the life of an early settler of the Israelite Bay area, the author comes to a much deeper understanding of the many ways in which the landscape has changed in the past one hundred and fifty years.

Author Biography

Nicole lives on the wild South Coast of Western Australia. When not in front of a computer she can usually be found swimming in the ocean, walking in the forest or in the garden. Nicole works as a part-time lecturer in the sustainability program at Murdoch University. After a twenty year career in environmental and sustainability she is now exploring the issues close to her heart through fiction and creative non-fiction. Nicole is working on her first novel, a work of historical fiction based on the life of Sarah Brooks, for which she received a Fellowship from KSP Writers Centre in 2017.
