Australia-Bhutan Research Conference

This conference serves as a platform to foster research linkages, strengthen academic partnerships, and promote knowledge exchange between Bhutan and Australia. Bringing together scholars, researchers, and professionals, the conference highlights interdisciplinary perspectives and emerging topics of mutual interest. It aims to break down geographical barriers and cultivate collaborative solutions that benefit both nations' academic communities and beyond. Participants will engage in discussions, keynote addresses, panel sessions, and networking opportunities, focusing on innovative research and shared learning experiences. In December 2023, the Royal Bhutanese Embassy, in collaboration with the University of Sydney (USYD), organised the first edition of the conference that brought together Bhutanese researchers and scholars focused on Bhutan studies. The conference served as a hub for showcasing the remarkable contributions of Bhutanese scholars in Australia while fostering an environment conducive to cross-cultural exchange, innovative ideas, and potential collaborations. Themed "Intersections of Culture, Climate, and Science." It celebrated Bhutan's commitment to environmental preservation while also embracing technological advancements. This theme resonated with global challenges and opportunities, emphasising the importance of collaboration and transformative solutions.
