Research Journeys in Education: Postgraduate Research Colloquium is an annual eventsponsored by the Edith Cowan Institute for Education Research. The purpose of the Colloquium is to provide a supportive environment in which postgrad students can showcase and share their research with fellow students and academic staff in the School of Education. It also provides a platform for students and staff to network and engage as a learning community on education research discourse. At the 2012 Colloquium, students were allocated 12 minutes and 10-12 powerpoint slides in which to present their work. The 30 presentations were grouped into 8 themes or sets of 3 or 4 papers. At the end of each paper set, a Discussant provided reflections on the research presented and then facilitated questions and discussion from the audience.
