Abstract

Based largely on interviews conducted in Canada, this may be the first study of organized Taoists and Tai Chi practitioners outside China. Gathering together the comments and personal stories of members of the Taoist Tai Chi Society from Australia, Canada, Europe, and the United States, the book addresses the present and future goals of the organization, particularly its efforts to spread the word about the health benefits of Tai Chi, even for people who are very ill.
