Abstract
This paper selects elements of the international history of technology and technology education through_ colonial and post-colonial periods in order to analyse the prevailing 'grand narrative' values of those modernist times. This is contrasted with contemporary post-modern values related to technology education curriculum development and implementation. Global curricula are examined for both explicit and implied values that would place such curricula either in sympathy or at odds with current post-modern trends. Conclusions are drawn about the value of international technology education curricula.
