Abstract
This paper overviews a framework to consider the adoption of collaborative commerce (c-commerce) in the hotel industry. Having overviewed c-commerce and some general characteristics of the hotel industry and the likelihood of c-commerce adoption therein, the paper outlines the factors important to c-commerce. The situation of two five star hotels located in Perth, Western Australia are considered in light of the framework. Corporate structure, IT and its importance to organisation strategy, the role and attitudes of the General Manager of each hotel to IT as well as the social identity of the hotel emerge as important for c-commerce prediction.
