Abstract
Are contractors assisting organisations to achieve project success, or diminishing the chances of success? Projects in ICT have had a dismal success rate and not surprisingly more and more projects are being closely monitored to ensure that investments in projects provide some return to the business. This paper examines documented success factors in the literature with respect to high performance project teams and identifies gaps and questions with regard to the impact of contractors on these teams.
