Abstract
With the increasing usage of RFID systems and, their potential in a range of common applications a basic knowledge of the operation of RFID technology will be required in future graduates in computer related fields. Coupled with increased usage will come an increase in the threats to the technology, the author highlights the value that RFID systems will have in the commercial world and the various elements that should be taught in security related units.
