Abstract
The rapid expansion of the Australian superannuation industry has coincided with the rapid development of the Internet. With increased portability of superannuation investments and increased choice of where to place these investments marketing opportunities are increasingly important to superannuation funds. Web-based marketing is attractive not least due to the cost advantages it offers. This paper uses the expanded Model of Internet Commerce Adoption to evaluate the superannuation industry website development. It appears that assessment of specific stages of development may reflect more the unresolved industry issues, for example fee disclosure, rather than issues of website development per se.
