Abstract
This paper presents some of the findings from research investigating aspects of children's later language development. The study is using written language data to investigate the development of the use of some of the features of language that contribute to readers perceiving persuasive texts as coherent. Coherence is a global property of texts, and is ultimately achieved in the mind of the reader through interaction with the text on the page; it is not resident in the text itself…
