Abstract
Management of Alcohol and Drug Problems clearly and succinctly addresses the need for an up-to-date resource on this topic. The book's main goal is to introduce the student or practitioner to the fundamentals of alcohol and drug misuse as applied to a clinical setting—complete with assessment, diagnostic and management strategies and tools. It provides scholarly information in an understandable and readable format, written by Australian and New Zealand experts in the field. Uniquely it integrates theoretical background with clinical practice. A clinical focus is maintained throughout the book and this is complemented with a thorough grounding in the theory, research and sciences as pertains to alcohol and drug use. Case histories are used to illustrate important clinical issues and key practice points are presented to help guide the reader further. For those people wishing to delve deeper into this domain there are suggestions for further reading.
