Abstract
This paper discusses the re-writing of an undergraduate computer security unit in order to highlight some of the major challenges facing units of this type. Geographical separation of students, student misconduct such as plagiarism and collusion and the dynamic nature of the Computer Security field introduce· a number of issues that must be considered when re-writing a unit such this. Many of the challenges faced are not unique to this field; however this paper will outline some of the strategies used in this Computer Security unit to address these challenges.
