Abstract

A highlight is provided on challenges in care and service provision experienced by people diagnosed with a neurodegenerative condition and their carers. Neurodegenerative conditions include Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's disease (PD), and Huntington's disease (HD). A national survey in Australia showed that about 503 patients and 373 carers in Australia identified that their main need was for better supportive care.
