Abstract

Critical care is a unique specialised area of practice; critical care clinicians should, wherever possible, promote and use evidence-based practice. Nurse researchers and clinicians often use literature reviews to support their practice or justify research projects. With an overwhelming volume of evidence (new and old) available, literature reviews act as a librarian, filtering through overwhelming shelves of knowledge, directing us to the most relevant and meaningful sources. . . .
