Abstract
Highlights: * Challenges exist in recognising sepsis in the older adult for clinicians and non-clinicians. * Most sepsis in older adults originate in the community non-clinical out of hospital setting. * Understanding the challenges may influence earlier recognition and treatment. * Earlier treatment on presentation to Emergency Departments influence better patient outcomes.
