Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the transformation of healthcare delivery towards E-health and telemedicine, enabling more accessible and efficient patient care. However, it introduces several additional risks, like data breaches, cyberattacks, software malfunctions, and patient privacy violations. Current risk management frameworks often fail to adequately address these specific risks in E-health, highlighting the urgent need for a more specialised approach. This paper addresses this gap by proposing a comprehensive risk management framework tailored to e-health care delivery. Our approach includes a systematic process for risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and continuous review. We explore the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing this framework, particularly in anomaly detection and predictive modelling for risk anticipation. Furthermore, the paper discusses the legal, ethical, and societal implications of managing risks in E-health care delivery, underscoring the need for stringent data privacy measures and adherence to ethical guidelines. This research contributes to the evolving field of e-health by offering a strategic framework for mitigating its unique risks, thus ensuring safer and more secure healthcare delivery in the digital age.
