Abstract
Although research with qualitative approaches has been developed in science, also in the sports sciences, for decades, those of us who have started in this type of research find that the main reference manuals in our field are written by English-speaking academics. Thus, this book aims to fill the scarcity of introductory texts to qualitative methodologies in the field of sport and physical exercise in the Spanish language. As a result of the coordinated work of a group of specialists in qualitative research, the work explains in a simple and attractive way what these types of research are, how they should be done, examples of scientific studies already carried out in our area and resources to expand the information. Hence it can become one more tool to use in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in qualitative research methodologies in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences. A broad vision of what qualitative methodologies are, with traditional and also emerging research designs, offering new readers research approaches, little developed in the Spanish and Latin American scientific tradition in the field of sport and physical exercise, is presented.
