Abstract
This study examines how different learning styles and knowledge types enable microbusinesses to develop market commitment strategies and rapidly internationalize along diverse growth pathways. Longitudinal data from seven Australian microbusinesses reveal that microbusinesses leverage the product knowledge of the founders for initial internationalization, which improves rapidly through experiential learning and market commitment. The findings contribute by explaining how the proprietor's knowledge evolves along specific value chain configurations.
