Climate change and occupational therapy

Abstract

This chapter explores the role of occupational therapy (OT) in addressing climate change and promoting environmental sustainability. It highlights how OT can enhance individuals' ability to engage in necessary and desired activities and emphasizes the importance of integrating environmental considerations and environmental justice into OT recommendations are provided to raise awareness, build resilience, offer mental health support, aid vulnerable populations, delineate ways to mitigate and adapt to climate change impacts, and advocate for sustainable practices.
