Abstract
Studies show that segmentations and power struggles among Silk Road countries are inevitable due to international and internal politics. As a result, the Silk Road project has changed direction, especially in the realm of tourism. This chapter utilizes an interdisciplinary approach, combining tourism politics and stakeholder management theory, to address the research gap concerning political segmentation along the Silk Road. The results indicate that both internal and international politics have hindered the integration of the Silk Road and prevented it from fulfilling its five major goals. However, it is possible to alleviate political segmentation by managing stakeholder relations, establishing a clear vision, and enhancing communication and collaboration among countries.
