Abstract
The chapter provides a useful timeline about the evolution of hotels. Education will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the hotels given the rapidness, complexity and uncertainty of the future. Will the human hotel manager become redundant by 2048? The future of hotels will be marked by the widespread adoption of AI and robotics, enhancing operational efficiency and guest interactions. Sustainability is the core mandate for hotels. Hospitality and hostmanship define our humanity (unless technology can replicate this by 2050).
