Abstract
Part 1 of this handbook established the groundwork for understanding crisis leadership and management within school organizations. Providing conceptual foundation for terminology that is often used interchangeably in the literature yet carries important implications for how leaders understand and respond to different situations. The chapter illustrates why crisis leadership is a distinct area of practice requiring specific attention within the broader field of educational leadership. It positions crisis leadership not as an extension of routine leadership but as a distinct approach.
