Abstract
This work is the investigation and documentation of three periods of time between October 24, 2002 and September 14, 2007 in the cities of Vienna, Taipei and Perth. The genesis of this project began in \/ienna, where I undertook an intense and methodical investigation into the archival holdings of Western Australian plans in the herbarium of the Naturhistorisches Museum. This was a significant time in my art practice, coinciding with a shift: from the east coast to the west coast of Australia and a shift in my focus towards an understanding of the landscape and country of my birth. The study of plants was a way of getting my bearings in the landscape, which is one of the oldest exposed land masses on the planet and which is inscribed with one of the oldest existing cultural traditions by the aboriginal people of Australia.
