Abstract
What started out as an accident (booking two drummers for the same gig), turned into one of Melbourne’s most exciting ensembles and longest running residencies of the 2000’s. Two albums and a Bell Award for Best Jazz Release later, two of the original band members – Jamie Oehlers on saxophone and Ben Vanderwal on drums present the all new Perth version of this ensemble, with new material and an exciting new line-up. What’s better than one drummer? We all know the answer to that – If you’re wondering what this sounds like, think 70’s Miles Davis meets a New Orleans drum line.
