High-speed optical wireless communications for local area networks

Abstract

We discuss optical wireless communications as a viable solution to achieving ultra-broadband connectivity in indoor settings. Using a fiber-fed optical wireless architecture, we demonstrate multi-gigabits/second data rates, enhanced physical security and improved protocols.
