Organizing organizational compassion subprocesses and mechanisms: A practical model
Abstract
We construct a model of compassion organizing by integrating four subprocesses: Noticing, Empathising, Assessing and Responding to a co-worker's suffering (NEAR), with the ten mechanisms that research suggests underpin the organizing of organizational compassion. We propose that the model can inform the promotion of organizational compassion as a conscious managed practice that operates within an organization's systemic organizing and human behavioural processes.
