Abstract
An invalid representation of diffusion-based scalar transport in the advection-diffusion equation in Khosronejad et al. (2016, https://doi.org/10.1002/2014JF003423) is discussed here. It is discussed that the error may increase diffusion-based transport by up to 3 orders of magnitude where the turbulence intensity is low
