Sovereign wealth funds in East Asia: An update of their recent developments

Abstract

Sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) in East Asia have become increasingly prominent in the international financial landscape. This chapter aims to provide an update on the recent developments of three relatively young SWFs in East Asia: the China Investment Corporation (CIC), the Korean Investment Corporation (KIC), and Vietnam’s State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC). We discuss the policy implications of these developments.
