Abstract
This article presents the field notes for an Australian production of The Beautiful Game. The article first begins with a theoretical framework that offers the author’s accent coaching philosophy, and this framework serves as a literature review for the coaching experience. The field notes include the background of the production and a discussion of the accent methodology. The notes on process section explore challenges within the production and practical exercises and techniques to resolve these issues, particularly those that fit within the accent methodology of the production. Ultimately, this article argues that there is a gap in accent coaching literature about Australian actors, and this article works to help fill this research gap, by presenting pragmatic experiences and notes on coaching challenges.
