Defying Gravity: Under the stars

Abstract

WAAPA’s beloved percussion ensemble returns to FAC for another magical night of music under the stars. Percussion virtuosi Callum Moncrieff (VIC) and Pavan Kumar Hari (WA) lead the skilled group in a repertoire covering ancient and modern percussion masterworks.

Peter Sculthorpe’s How the Stars were Made fills the air with energy and rhythm, Hari’s own A Little Touch of India reveals a dazzling world of sound and action, and Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Suite brings the magic of Latin American dance to life.
